The Afrika e ntle Community Project in Soshanguve in Gauteng aims to create vibrant and active theatre sectors which will contribute to social and economic development. The organization was founded in 2003 in Ga-rankuwa but is currently operating in Soshanguve as a nonprofit entity.  They have artists that participate fulltime in the programme, but also run an aftercare initiative for the youth in the surrounding areas.

The organization is a legal entity registered with the Department of Social Development. Focus of the organization; the aim is to create vibrant and active theatre sectors which contribute s to the development of South Africa, social and economical. Afrika e ntle was founded in 2003 in ga-rankuwa currently operating in Soshanguve as a nonprofit entity.

In view of the fact that a considerable number of young people in our community have no proper education Arts and culture community special programmes, and that also depends on the type and strategy of presentation. Special programmes are required to address their plight. Therefore through this project the community will benefit the following:

Community sectors can access project services, and skills development can be provided in all spheres particularly those in the disadvantaged areas, Such as the Informal settlements and newly developed areas.

The project fulfills a Arts and culture development function in that it promotes social stability and contributes to wellness and enhances overall community development. The strategy commits to a people centered process of coordinated social change that promotes the well being of the population as a whole and of disadvantaged groups within it.

 The ultimate aim of the strategy is to improve and instill understanding and awareness on the Arts sector, behavioral and Mindset change and create a just and caring society, in a way that promotes the overall well-being of people by maximizing individual, family and community potential of dealing and facing the challenges.

The project also contributes to important social policy areas such as community regeneration, healthy life styles, disease prevention, psychological well being, learning and productivity. Cited benefits of the project will include physical health and fitness, improved quality of life, mental/psychological well-being, relaxation, family activity, networking and support groups and will make a difference in reducing social problems. The internal experience confirms that the project will play a role in overcoming socio economic barriers, promotes lifelong learning and provides opportunities for involvement in community life through voluntary creative work.

Afrika e ntle confirms that clear connection between Arts, Culture and social development, and the fact that interventions can promote Children, Women and The disabled capacities to engage in productive and meaningful activities. The objective can only be achieved through collaborative approach between the spheres of the Community, Corporate as well as between the all sectors of the society.
